The story was a good read. I appreciated that the characters' faith didn't make their life issues suddenly go away. Ty and Autumn were fun and had some depth. However, I thought that Ty's mom getting a police report on an incident that happened 7 years ago a little unbelievable. At that time, Ty would have been a minor so I think his parents would have been involved in the process and would have been aware of what happened instead of being suddenly understanding Autumn's issues 7 years later. Also, getting a pet through airport security isn't quite as easy as the story suggests. Even with those minor flaws, the story was fast paced and had some unexpected twists.

Daylight in Blossom edition by Scott McElhaney Romance eBooks Reviews

Fun, lighthearted read even while dealing with a dark topic. The ending "scenes during the credit" let you finish the book with a smile. I've enjoyed every book I've read by this author and this one is no exception.
I thought this was a Christian do you and there was some mention of having a relationship with God. The main characters had strong moral values, but some parts were quite sexually explicit.
The plot was good. Nice twists and I especially appreciate Scott's character development. They are not shallow characters. I also liked the references to song lyrics. Very very well done.
'Daylight in Blossom' was the only time that Autumn (main character) was able to function somewhat normally. Even though she consider the town of blossom to be a Kryptonite town it is where her Typhoon lives. Typhoon is also known as Tyler, Autumn's cousin. He is her superman. He is the only one that can rescue her during her bloody murder episodes of shadows chasing her. See, Autumn can not function normally at night. You don't discover the reason until the end, but you get the sense that something terrifying happen to her as a child. And Typhoon is the only one that can rescue her. He eventually does save her, after a few road trips and laughs along the way you realized the daemons that have been tearing Autumn apart all this time.
I will assume you know what the story is about, as you are currently reading a review on it (and thus, interested).
Well, within the first few pages, I really wasn't interested. Not that the author didn't do a good job, but it felt like a teen drama, which is something that really turns me off in most cases. My trust that the author would do something a little different for the story made me push on. The characters were well developed, but the melodrama felt a bit more emotionally charged rather than realistic. Not bad if that is your thing, and this case it was well done, but not my cup of tea.
However, the presentation the author gives is awesome, which kept this book from getting 3 stars. McElhaney truly has the gift of the craft, and by reading his stuff, you can tell he has fun doing it. Everything is easy to follow and well played.
One thing I didn't like though, is the ending felt like it was rushed... I was expecting a few more pages leading up to the big reveal, but it seemed like I turned the page and everything was summed up and "the end". (view spoiler)
I DID have a good laugh at the "ending credits" scenes. I thought it was different and fun.

Overall, the plot was dark, but still allowed the reader to have fun with the characters when times were good. The author shines through-out has having a good time with his craft while still being taken seriously and captures the reader into his imagination. On the negative, it is a teen drama. Not trash teen drama, but teen drama none-the-less, which just isn't my thing. Still, I would suggest it to any 16-24 year old, or higher if they liked that sort of thing. Well done mr. McElhaney. Another good book!
Another good Christian fiction story from Scott McElhaney. They are always .99 on version. A girl with a troubled past. Her cousin who is her 'superhero' and some mystery. A great read. Simple writing style. Sound characters. Loved it. Will continue to read more from this author. I give "Daylight in Blossom" five stars.
This is my first McElhaney read, but I had now downloaded all of his works onto my kindle, and am working my way through them.
See, I APPRECIATE really good writing, unique characters, plots that are not recycled two thousand times, and, oh yes, all this at a LOW, LOW PRICE to me!!! There are some other writers I enjoy, that are not nearly as uniquely talented, that I do NOT buy all of their new stuff--because they are charging $7 to $9 for a 90-160 page 'novel' with a recycled plot. Now, I LIKE those writers, but, I would rather get a bunch of unique books for the same amount of money..... I LOVED Daylight in Blossom, and I highly recommend it to anyone who want a great read...Now I am going to read Mommy's Choice....
